Data Analyst - price and strategy analysis, engaged in energy market related work.

Job Summary

This position is under our energy trading group. This position needs people to

1. Predict the price trend of California electricity market through mathematical modeling and qualitative analysis;

2. Participate in the bidding strategy formulation

3. Collect and improve the relevant database information

4. Analyze situations of the bidding price node.

The most important responsibility of the position is to use data analysis to help the company to carry out the price and strategy guidance of the daily virtual bidding.

Position Duties and Responsibilities

1. Report the daily forecast node prices and related information to Trading Director, and supply the feasible bidding strategies.

2. Collect and collate the relevant data of the energy market and complete the construction of the database.

3. Use data analysis software, such as R, to establish model of price, power generation forecast and so on

4. Analyze and predict the energy and congestion price of bidding nodes, and provide relate data for bidding.

5. Collate and sum up the California policies and regulations in the energy fields and analyze the potential impact of policy changing on price.

Position Qualifications

1. Master's or above degree in energy, environmental management, mathematics, engineering, or relevant area. GPA is required 3.6/4.0 or above.

2. At least one year's working experience in the relevant area. (the graduate related project experience can be counted as working time)

3. Have working experience or research experience on energy market in US, and understand policies and regulations in energy fields in US.

4. Have working experience or research experience on big data processing and analyzing.

5. Proficiency in data analysis tools (such as R, STATA, MATLAB, etc.).

6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

7. Being good at communication with people; efficient complete your tasks; comfort in the fast pace work environment.

8. Strong mathematics background (logic, linear algebra, geometry, etc.)
